Smith Earns AMC Defender of the Week Honors

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/13/25) – Williams Baptist University men's soccer goalkeeper John Smith was voted American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for week seven of the season, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Flowood, Miss. native led the Williams to a 2-0 win in its conference opener over Hannibal-LaGrange.  Smith tallied six saves en route to his first career shutout in his second start as an Eagle.

Smith and the Eagles return to the pitch on Tuesday, Oct. 14 to host Harris-Stowe.  Kick-off against the Hornets is set for 3 p.m. from the WBU Soccer Field.
