Kelly Named AMC Defensive Player of the Week

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (2/2/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball junior Kylen Kelly was named American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for week 14 of the season, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Kelly led a strong defensive front that held No. 16 Columbia to just 32.9 percent shooting from the floor as Williams took its first win over a ranked opponent since 2019 on Saturday.

The Jonesboro, Ark. native led the Eagles on the glass with nine rebounds alongside a block in the 90-75 win over the Cougars.  

Williams is 16-3 overall and 6-2 in AMC play this season.  Kelly and the Eagles will return to the floor on Tuesday, Feb. 3 on the road against Crowley's Ridge.  Tipoff against the Pioneers is set for 7:30 p.m. from Carter Activities Center in Paragould, Ark.
