ST. LOUIS, Mo. (2/15/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's basketball team lost to Missouri Baptist by the final score of 80-66 on Saturday afternoon.
Elisha Cofield led the way for the Eagles with a double-double on 21 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. Amarion Wilson followed up with 15 points, Cooper Rabjohn put up 11 off the bench, and DJ Townsend finished with 10 points.
As a team, the Eagles went 23-for-61 (37.7 percent) from the field while the Spartans shot at a 48.4 percent clip. MBU won the rebound battle 44-32 and led with 38 points in the paint.
The Eagles took a 2-0 lead after Elisha Cofield scored the game's opening bucket. The Spartans went on an 8-0 run to take the lead at 8-2. Cooper Rabjohn cut the lead to one with a three-pointer, but MBU went on a 13-2 lead to balloon the advantage back to 12. The Eagles headed to the locker room down 45-31.
A triple from Rabjohn cut the Spartan lead to seven at the beginning of the second half, but the Eagles were unable to capitalize as WBU went on to fall in the road matchup.
WBU will be back in action for Senior Night on Thursday, Feb. 20 against Hannibal-LaGrange. Tip-off against the Trojans is set for 7:30 p.m. from inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
