WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/4/25) – The Williams Baptist University volleyball team fell in two matches to Mission by the final score of 3-1 (28-25, 19-25, 22-25, 18-28) and Harris-Stowe by the final score of 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-20) inside Hinkhouse Center on the campus of Cottey College on Saturday.
Tinleigh Ruhman led the way against Mission with 13 kills on a .243 hit percentage. Desirae Walker posted 17 assists, and Hope Raymond led the back row with 23 digs.
As a team, the Lady Eagles put up 27 kills, 27 assists, and 52 digs.
Down 15-10 in the first set, WBU stormed back to take a 20-16 lead after a 10-1 run. Mission tied the match at 24, but Halie Sutton ended the back and forth with a block to give the Lady Eagles the 1-0 set lead.
Despite the strong start, the Patriots took the next three sets to take the win in four.
In the second match of the day, Natalie Collier led the offense with eight kills on a .421 hitting percentage. Amber Kahler posted 10 assists, and Hope Raymond finished in the double digits again with 18 digs.
The losses dropped WBU to 1-19 overall and 0-10 in American Midwest Conference play.
The Lady Eagles return to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 7 on the road against Freed-Hardeman. The match is slated for a 6 p.m. start from Henderson, Tenn.
