Lady Eagles Fall in AMC Semifinal

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/7/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team saw its 2025 conference tournament run end with a 3-1 loss to Harris-Stowe in the American Midwest Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Semifinal at the WBU Soccer Field on Friday afternoon.

As a team, WBU was outshot by HSSU 12-11.  Both teams landed six shots on goal.  Harris-Stowe led the game in set pieces with four corner kicks.

The Hornets scored the first goal of the contest on a free kick of Moenesa Mejias in the 12th minute.  Later in the half, Yajaira Alvarado responded with her 27th goal of the season on an assist from Latavia Fletcher in the 38th minute to tie the match going into halftime.

HSSU scored the eventual game-winner in the 50th minute, then added an insurance score in the 74th to extend the lead to 3-1.  WBU managed two shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to respond.

The Lady Eagles end the season with a program-high 12 wins with a .667 winning percentage.
