Lady Eagles Take Down Bulldogs, 76-61
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (12/29/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's basketball team took down Fisk on the road by the final score of 76-61 inside Henderson A. Johnson Arena on Monday night.
Cha'Myrean Ellis led the way for the Lady Eagles with 25 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Joi Montgomery followed up with 21 points, and Chelsea Hamilton scored 15.
WBU went 29-for-59 (49.2 percent) from the field while holding Fisk to 19-of-53 (35.8 percent) shooting on the night. Williams won the rebound battle 41-31 and scored 24 points on 26 Fisk turnovers.
After Cortayza Flowers gave WBU the lead with a free throw in the first, Fisk went on a seven-point swing to go up 12-6 with four minutes to play. A bucket and two free throws from Chelsea Hamilton tied the game back up before Fisk scored another bucket to take a 16-14 lead after one quarter.
Early in the second quarter, Joi Montgomery tied the game at 19 with a triple to force a Bulldog timeout. The Bulldogs pulled away out of the timeout to take a 32-23 lead with 3:36 to play in the half. Montgomery brought WBU within two, but the Lady Eagles went into halftime down 35-32.
The Lady Eagles got hot out of the halftime break, out-scoring the Bulldogs 24-13 in the third quarter. A Chelsea Hamilton trey gave WBU the lead with 7:51 in the third quarter. Fisk got back within two with 2:25 left in the third, but Flowers kicked off a 8-2 run to finish the third quarter with a 56-48 lead.
Williams kept on the defensive pressure in the fourth, out-scoring Fisk 20-13 in the final quarter. Hamilton kicked off a game-sealing 10-0 run with a field goal with 6:36 left to play.
The win moves the Lady Eagles to 6-3 overall on the season. WBU will round out non-conference play Wednesday, Dec. 31 on the road against Bryan (TN). Tipoff against the Lions is set for 1 p.m. from Dayton, Tenn.
