Pina Claims AMC Defensive Player of the Week Honors

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.  (9/30/24) – For the second time this season, Williams Baptist University goalkeeper Rodrigo Pina has been named the American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week.

Pina secured six saves in WBU's 1-0 win over Freed-Hardeman in the non-conference finale.  Pina clinched his ninth career shutout as the Eagles improved to 4-1-4 on the season.

The senior leads the AMC in Goals Against Average (.860) and Shutouts (4) so far this season.

The Eagles will return to the pitch on Saturday, Oct. 5 to open up AMC play against Missouri Baptist.  Kick-off is set for 2 p.m. from the WBU Soccer Field on the campus of Williams Baptist University.
