Pina Named AMC Defensive Player of the Week

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (9/16/24) – For the first time this season, Williams Baptist University goalkeeper Rodrigo Pina was named American Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week for week four of the season.

Pina grabbed eight saves in two shutouts for WBU in a win over No. 24 LSU-Shreveport and a scoreless draw with (RV) John Brown.  The Lisbon, Portugal native leads the conference in shutouts and goals against average.

WBU will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 20 on the road against Bethel.  Kick-off is set for 6 p.m. from McKenzie, Tenn.
