The first half started out very tight and was back-and-forth. The Hornets found the breakthrough first with a goal in the 27th minute, but the Eagles quickly responded with an equalizing goal two minutes later after Alfonso Madrigal found the back of the net off a pass from Gabriel Alencar. 

The Eagles took the lead in the 38th minute when Jacobo Obrador headed home a pass from Thiago Nascimento who receieved the ball from Hugo Gil off a free kick. 

Fernando Paya scored the Eagles' third goal in the 74th minute with the assist from Hadriel Mazega. Emmanuel Devolder added the fourth in 77th minute when he slotted home a rebound after the keeper saved a shot from Thayrone Cazeca. Tobias Doogs scored the fifth in the 80th minute. 

Alejandro Perez made five saves in the net for the Eagles.

The Eagles travel to St. Louis on Tuesday, Oct. 19 for a matchup with conference foe University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy. Kickoff is scheduled for 8 p.m.
