SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Williams Baptist men's soccer scored three goals in the second half against the Evangel Crusaders to win 3-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles had plenty of chances to score in the first half of the game, but were never able to find the break-through goal. This trend continued for the first twenty-five minutes or so into the second half until Thayrone Cazeca (JR/Vitoria, Brazil) scored off a free kick that curled into the right side of the goal.
Williams kept the pressure on the Crusaders and were able to score two more in the final minutes of the game. Gabriel Otero (SO/Vargem Grande do Sul, SP, Brazil) scored the second on a breakaway that ended with a shot from outside the box. For the final goal, Jacobo Obrado found Vitor Costa (SO/Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil) who fired home a shot that the keeper couldn't handle.
Alejandro Perez (JR/Valencia, Spain) and Harrison Gailey (FR/Motherwell, Scotland) both spent time in goal for the Eagles. Perez had four saves while Gailey had one.
The Eagles had 22 shots with 10 being on goal.
