Wesson, Luckey Named AMC Players of the Week
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/5/26) – Williams Baptist University men's basketball players Deion Wesson and Aseem Luckey were respectively named the American Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the week, the AMC office announced Monday afternoon.
Deion Wesson earned AMC Offensive Player of the Week after a 33-point performance in WBU's 101-74 win over Rust on Saturday afternoon. The Jonesboro, Ark. native went 12-for-18 from the floor and 5-of-8 from three-point range to tie his second-highest scoring game of the season.
Aseem Luckey was named AMC Defensive Player of the Week after posting his first double-double as an Eagle on 20 points and 12 rebounds against Rust. Alongside season-highs in scoring and rebounding, the Philadelphia, Pa. native posted seven offensive rebounds and blocked two shots on the day.
This marks the second time this season WBU has swept AMC Player of the Week honors. In week four of the season, Wesson won Defensive Player of the Week while Jesse Washington claimed the offensive honor.
Luckey, Wesson, and the rest of the Eagles return to the court on Tuesday, Jan. 6 to play host to Crowley's Ridge in AMC action. Tipoff against the Pioneers is set for 7:30 p.m. inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
