Washington Powers Williams to Road Win Over Pensacola Christian

PENSACOLA, Fla. (11/14/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's basketball team defeated Pensacola Christian by the final score of 89-59 behind a 36-point effort by Jesse Washington inside the Arlin R. Horton Sports Center on Friday night.

Washington posted a double-double on a new career-high 36 points on 12-of-22 from the field and 15 rebounds.  The Jonesboro, Ark. native went 7-for-11 from beyond the three-point line.

Deion Wesson followed with 24 points on 10-of-24 shooting, and Benjamin Noonan also finished in double figures with 12.

As a team, WBU went 34-for-72 (47.2 percent) from the field and 9-for-25 (36.0 percent) from three-point range.  Williams also won the rebound battle 35-32, and scored 39 points off 33 PCC turnovers.  The Eagles scored 50 points in the paint.

After Deion Wesson buried a triple for the first basket of the game, PCC responded with a 16-4 run to take the lead halfway through the first half.  Out of a timeout, Williams went on a 26-4 run to take a 35-20 lead that it would not relinquish. Deion Wesson hit another trey at the end of the half to send WBU into the locker room up 42-27.

Early in the second, a PCC layup cut the Williams lead to eight, but Benjamin Noonan hit both free throws to push the advantage back to double digits.  The Eagles continued to add distance as a Davonta Tucker dunk extended the lead to 20.  Christ Theodor added the game-ending exclamation point with a dunk for WBU's final basket.  PCC hit one more three-pointer before the buzzer to set the final score at 89-59.

The win moves the Eagles to 3-0 on the season.  Next, WBU will return to the Southerland-Mabee Center to host Principia College on Wednesday, Nov. 19.  Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. from inside the Southerland-Mabee Center on the campus of Williams Baptist University.
