WBU Picked Fourth in AMC Coaches Poll

The Williams Baptist University Men's Basketball team was picked to finish tied for fourth in the American Midwest Conference preseason coach's poll on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles captured 30 points in the poll, tying Central Baptist for fourth place. Columbia was picked to finish first, Missouri Baptist second, and William Woods just ahead of WBU in the third place spot.

The Eagles went 15-10 overall and 10-6 in AMC play a season ago, good enough for fourth place in the final conference standings.  The Eagles fell in the first round of the AMC Tournament to William Woods University.

Coach Josh Austin returns with a very similar team to last year, with a few notable improvements.

Senior Duke Hardin returns after scoring the fifth most points in the American Midwest Conference.  Senior T.J. Clardy will also return this season after securing 181 rebounds for the Eagles.  Newcomers Sidi Toure and Ashton Young also look to help the Eagles exceed expectations this year.

The Eagles will kick off the season November 4th at home against Champion Christian College at 3 p.m. for Homecoming.
