WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams men's basketball team saw their 2022-23 season come to an end at the hands of the William Woods Owls on Thursday night after suffering a 82-65 loss.
It was a tight first six minutes of the game that saw both teams swapping baskets. The Eagles took a 15-11 lead after Ben Keton knocked down a three at the 13:20 mark in the first half. The Owls came back and tied it at 15 and then the teams went back to swapping baskets until the Owls were able to go on a 15-3 run to end the first half with a 45-33 lead.
The second half saw the Eagles try to claw their way back into the game, but they were never able to get the lead down to more than five points.
Williams shot 29.9% from the field (20-67), 33.3% from the three-point line (8-24), and 63% from the free-throw line (17-27).
Duke Hardin led the team with 24 points and no other Eagles were in double figures.
TJ Clardy and Isaiah Thompson both had seven rebounds to lead the team on the boards.
