WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams men's basketball team held on to defeat the Harris-Stowe State Hornets 72-66 on Thursday night.
The Eagles led the Hornets 34-26 at halftime. The Hornets tried to make it interesting in the second half and cut the Eagles' lead down to one with 7:23 left in the game, but Duke Hardin made a layup and then Ben Keton knocked down a three-pointer to bump the lead back out to six.
Williams shot 44.6% from the field (25-56), 40% from the three-point line (10-25), and 63.2% from the free-throw line (12-19).
TJ Clardy led the team with 16 points. Keton finished with 14, Jayvon Clark had 13, and Hardin and Austin Cluck both had 12.
Clardy led the team with six rebounds. Hardin finished with eight assists.
