Buzzer Beater Stuns Eagles Against Spartans

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams men's basketball team lost to the Missouri Baptist Spartans on a three-pointer at the buzzer to end the game.

It was a close game from the tip that saw 14 ties and 10 lead changes, with neither team leading by more than eight points. 

It was all tied at 68 with just under 1:30 to go in the game and Duke Hardin hits a three-pointer to give the Eagles a lead. The Spartans respond with 27 seconds left with a three of their own to tie it right back up. The Eagles in bound the ball and hold it for the last shot of the game. Jayvon Clark dishes it to Ben Keton in the corner who nails a three-pointer to give the Eagles the lead again with 4.8 seconds left. The Spartans in bound and are immediately fouled. They knock down their first free-throw to cut the lead to two and intentionally miss the second, but it goes out of bounds off the Spartans. Eagles inbound the ball, but the Spartans quickly steal it and knock down a three-pointer as time expired to win 75-74. 

The Eagles shot 35.1% from the field (20-57), 36% from the three-point line (9-25), and 73.5% from the free-throw line (25-34). 

Hardin led all scorers with 33 points in the game, a new career-high for him. Ben Keton was also in double-figures with 10 points. 

Isaiah Thompson led the team on the boards with 12.
