Eagles Fall in Tuesday Doubleheader at BMCU

NEW ALBANY, Miss. - The Williams baseball team had a tough day on the diamond as they dropped both games of their doubleheader at Blue Mountain Christian University, falling in game one 18-4 and game two 16-2.

Game One

It was a tough day offensively for the Eagles as they managed four runs off five hits. They scored one run in the fifth when Dezmond Cordova reached on an error that allowed Trae Barnes to score. They added three runs in the seventh: Cordova and Jarron hit RBI singles, and Nicholas Jones hit a sac fly. 

Skylar Morrison got the start and pitched 1/3 of an inning. He allowed five runs off three hits and walked two. Parker Jeffries pitched 1.2 innings and allowed four runs off five hits, walked one and struck out three. Jimmy Watson pitched 3.0 innings and allowed two runs off four hits and walked two. Cole Edwards pitched 1.0 inning and allowed seven runs off three hits, walked one and struck out three. 

Game Two

The second game wasn't any better for the Eagles as they scored two unearned runs and were no-hit in the ball game. The two runs came in the third when Luis Febres reached first and allowed Cordova and Cam McCoy to score. 

Eric Tolar got the start and pitched 2.0 innings. He allowed three runs off four hits, walked two and struck out two. Cash Forrester pitched 2.0 innings and allowed nine runs off nine hits, walked one and struck out three. Cole Doke pitched 1/3 of an inning and allowed three runs off one hit, walked two and struck out one. Mason Andrews pitched 1.2 innings and allowed one run off two hits and walked one.

The Eagles travel to Hot Springs, Ark. on Friday, March 3 for a doubleheader against Champion Christian College. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
