Jonker Takes Silver at Trojan Invite
HANNIBAL, Mo. (10/13/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Trojan Invite, hosted by Hannibal-LaGrange University on Saturday morning.
The Lady Eagles placed third out of five teams in the 5K race. Marizenne Jonker led the way with a second-place finish and a time of 20:35. Sharon Strydom followed just outside the top 10, placing 11th with a time of 22:24.
Abigail Williams finished 26th with a time of 26:21, while Jillian Johnson placed 32nd at 29:36. Kaedynce Miller followed closely behind in 33rd with a time of 29:50. Rachel Dudley rounded out the team in 38th place, finishing in 34:26.
On the men's side, Gabriel Jones led the Eagles in the 8K race, placing 32nd with a time of 35:35. Brady Barr followed in 33rd at 35:42, and Dauren Zhenbaev finished 35th with a time of 36:47.
Cody Carden placed 40th with a time of 41:22, followed by Dylan Richardson in 41st at 44:20. Esteban Gonzalez finished 42nd at 47:19, and Ben Hackler rounded out the team in 43rd place with a time of 47:40.
Next, WBU will compete in the American Midwest Conference Cross Country Championships on Thursday, Nov. 6, in St. Louis, Mo.
