Jonker Named AMC Runner of the Week

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (9/29/25) – Williams Baptist University cross country junior Marizenne Jonker was named American Midwest Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for the fourth week of the season.

Jonker earned the honor after finishing sixth at the Blue Mountain Topper Trails Classic with a time of 20:40.  Jonker led the Lady Eagles to a fifth place finish as a team in the event.

This is the first time this season and second time in her career Jonker has been named the AMC Runner of the week. Her first weekly honor came in week eight of the 2024 season.

Jonker and the Lady Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11 in Hannibal, Mo. for the Trojan Invitational.  The women's race is set to begin at 10 a.m., with the men's race to follow at 10:40 a.m.
