Lady Eagles Fall to Scots in Non-Conference Matchup

BATESVILLE, Ark. (10/21/25) – The Williams Baptist University volleyball team lost to Lyon by the final score of 3-0 (25-10, 25-19, 25-18) inside Bucknell Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

Alyssa Russell, Alicea Epherson, and Tinleigh Ruhman each tied for the team-lead in kills with four each.  Desirae Walker posted 10 assists, and Hope Raymond led the back row with six digs.

The Lady Eagles put up 21 kills, 16 assists, and 29 digs in the match.

Lyon took control of the first set behind an early 11-0 run to take a 13-3 lead.  The Scots did not look back to take the first set 25-10.

A Hope Raymond kill cut the Lyon lead to 13-12 in the second set, but that would be as close as WBU would come in the set.  Lyon took three of the final four points of the frame to take the 2-0 set lead.

Lyon closed out the win with a 25-18 win in the third set.  Williams came within one point after a Desirae Walker ace at 13-12, but five straight points added insurance as the Scots took the final set.

The loss drops WBU to 2-24 overall on the season.  Next, WBU returns home to face Cottey and Central Baptist in a tri-match on Saturday, Oct. 25.  The three-match slate is set for a 12 p.m. start inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
