Lady Eagles Defeated By Cougars in Straight Sets

COLUMBIA, Mo.  (9/19/25) – The Williams Baptist University volleyball team dropped an American Midwest Conference contest with Columbia by the final score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-13) on Friday night.

As a team, the Lady Eagles combined for 14 kills and 22 digs.  Hope Raymond led the way on the back row with nine digs of her own.

WBU took four of the first five points of the match behind the serve of Faith Raymond to get out to an early lead in the first set, but Columbia went on an 8-0 run to take a commanding lead that it did not relinquish.

The Cougars dominated the second set by taking the final five points in succession to take a 2-0 set advantage.  CC continued its run in the third frame, taking seven of the first eight points and not looking back to take the win in straight sets.

The loss drops Williams to 1-10 on the season and 0-3 in AMC play.  The Eagles will return to the court Saturday morning for an AMC doubleheader against Stephens and UHSP in Columbia, Mo.  First serve against the Stars is set for 11 a.m., with the second match set to begin right after.
