Indoor Track and Field Opened 2023 Season at SEMO Redhawks Invite on Saturday

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - The Williams men's and women's indoor track and field teams opened up their 2023 slate this past Saturday at the Redhawks Invite hosted by SEMO.

On the field side, the Eagles had several competing and getting top 10 finishes:

• Karlis Smith finished 4th in the men's pole vault with a mark of 3.20m
• Allyson Marlow finished third in the women's pole vault with a mark of 2.40m (PR) 
• Hannah Baker finished sixth in the women's weight throw with a mark of 14.55m (Indoor School Record & PR); sixth in the women's shot put with a mark of 11.73m (Indoor school record and PR)

On the track side, the Eagles again had several compete and finish in the top 10:

• Mikey Larson finished sixth in the women's one mile run with a time of 5:52.95 (PR)
• Kyia Weisbrod finished seventh in the women's one mile run with a time of 6:00.69; 11th in the 3000m run with a time of 11:57.33 (Indoor School Record & PR)
• Dani Barstead finished eighth in the women's one mile run with a time of 6:56.03
• Aitor Mateo finished seventh in the men's 800m with a time of 2:20.03
• Nick Powell finished eighth in the men's 800m with a time of 2:20.39
• Lamont Evans finished ninth in the men's 800m with a time of 2:43.18
• Gage Blankenship finished tenth in the men's 800m with a time of 2:44.20
• Ralph Iweriebor finished eighth in the men's 200m dash with a time of 24.51
• Byron Lewis, Iweriebor, Jason Detrick, and Mateo finished in fourth in the men's 4x400m relay with at ime of 3:51.39
• Madison Mittag, Alison Marlow, Zaelin Morris, and Ali Ward finished fifth in the women's 4x400m relay with a time of 5:06.28.
