Eagles Track & Field Compete at CMU Invite

FAYETTE, Mo. - The Williams Baptist track and field teams competed at the Central Methodist Invite on Friday and Saturday. The women finished in 6th out of 15, while the men finished in 9th out of 15.

In the men's hammer throw, Robert Cullum finished in 15th place with a new PR of 28.36m.

In the men's javelin, Jacob Whittle (SR/Eldon Mo.) finished in 9th place with a PR of 41.15m.

In the men's 100m, Ralph Iweriebor (SO/Monticello, Ark.) finished in 11th place with a new PR of 11.55 seconds.

In the men's 200m, Ralph Iweriebor finished in 10th place with a time of 23.46.

In the men's 4x400m relay, Ralph Iweriebor, Tyler Sosnowski (FR/Mountain Home, Ark.), Nick Powell, and Jacob Whittle finished in fifth with a time of 3:40.44.

In the men's 10,000m run, Ryan Moshinsky (FR/Batavia, Ill.) finished in 10th place with a time of 38:47.17.

In the men's 5000m race walk, Gage Blankenship (FR/Paragould, Ark.) finished in 2nd with a time of 30:28.79.

In the men's 4x800m relay, Tyler Sosnowski, Nick Powell, Hunter Wade (FR/Ward, Ark.), and Jacob Whittle finish in 2nd place with a time 9:36.62.

In the men's decathlon, Read Parker (JR/Mountain Home, Ark.) finished in 3rd with 3963 points and Karlis Smith (SO/West Memphis, Ark.) finished in 4th with 2843 points. Within the decathlon, Parker set a PR in the long jump with a mark of 5.34m and in the 110m hurdles a time of 20.20 seconds, which also broke the school record for the 110 hurdles. Also within the decathlon, Smith set a new PR in the discus throw with a mark of 19.80m.

In the women's hammer throw, Hannah Baker (SO/Osceola, Ark.) finished in 19th place and set a new PR with a throw of 31.17m.

In the women's javelin, Madison Mittag (FR/Campbell, Mo.) finished in 10th with a mark of 28.00m.

In the women's shot put, Hannah Baker finished in sixth with a throw of 11.15m to set a new school record.

In the women's 1500m run, Kelcey Cooper (SR/Yoakum, Texas) finished in 19th place with a new PR time of 5:54.20.

In the women's 4x100m relay, Derneisha Johnson (FR/Port Allen. La.), Rachel McKuin (JR/Blytheville, Ark.), Madison Mittag, and Teara Walker (SR/St. Louis, Mo.) finished in 3rd with a time of 54.31.

In the women's 3000m steeplechase, Kyla Downes finished in 3rd with a time of 16:15.11.

In the women's 400m, Hope Cram (SO/Poplar Bluff, Mo.) finished in 9th place with a new PR time of 1:07.83.

In the women's 100m, Derneisha Johnson finished in 16th place with a new PR time of 13.64 seconds.

In the women's 800m, Ali Ward finished in 6th place with a time of 3:26.99.

In the women's 5000m race walk, Amy McMorris (SO/Atoka, Okla.) placed 3rd with a time of 35:33.63.

In the women's heptathlon, Kristin Sutton (FR/Gosnell, Ark.) finished in 4th with a score of 2372 to set a new school record, and Emily Weiss (SO/Gosnell, Ark.) finished in 5th with a score of 2096 for a new PR. Within the hep, Sutton set a new school record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.06 and a new PR in the high jump with a mark of 1.43m. HWithin the hep, Weiss set a new PR in the shot put with a mark of 6.87m and long jump with a mark of 15.82m.
