Eagles Compete at AMC Last Chance Meet
ELSAH, Ill. - The Williams Baptist indoor track and field teams competed at the AMC Last Chance Meet for one last shot at qualifying for the NAIA National Indoor Championships. Because of COVID, the NAIA has decided to only invite the Top 16 in each event and those announcements will be made on Feb. 26.
The racewalkers kicked things off on Friday with Amy McMorris (SO/Atoka, Okla.) finishing in first with a time of 19:53.45. The men's race saw Gage Blankenship (FR/Paragould, Ark.) finish in second with a time of 18:26.21, Isaiah Cook (SO/Hoxie, Ark.) finish in third with a time of 19:26.94, and Karlis Smith (SO/West Memphis, Ark.) finish in fourth with a time of 20:06.49.
Men's pole vaulting got things kicked off on Saturday and Read Parker (JR/Mountain Home, Ark.) finished in third with a mark of 3.75 m.
In the women's shot put, Hannah Baker (SO/Osceola, Ark.) finished sixth with a mark of 10.56m. She placed fifth in the weight throw with a mark of 12.79 m.
In the men's one mile, Ryan Moshinsky (FR/Batavia, Ill.) finished fourth with a time of 5:23.36.
In the men's 400 m dash, Jacob Whittle (SR/Eldon Mo.) placed second with a time of 53.15, and Nick Powell finished in fourth with a time of 54.68.
In the men's 800 m, Hunter Wade (FR/Ward, Ark.) placed second with a time of 2:15.81.
In the men's 200 m dash, Ralph Iweriebor (SO/Monticello, Ark.) finished first with a time of 23.78, which is good for a new school record for indoor.
In the women's 400 m dash, Kristin Sutton (FR/Gosnell, Ark.) finished third with a time of 1:10.89, and Madison Mittag (FR/Campbell, Mo.) placed fourth with a time of 1:12.10.
In the women's 800 m, Kelcey Cooper (SR/Yoakum, Texas) finished fifth with a time of 2:52.28.

The NAIA National Indoor Meet will be held on March 3-6 in Yankton, South Dakota. The Eagles will find out on Feb. 26 if anyone has qualified for the meet.
