Lady Eagles Fall to Eutectics in Regular Season Finale

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (11/1/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost its regular season final on the road at UHSP by the final score of 4-2 on Saturday morning.

WBU outshot UHSP 21-17, but the Eutectics won the shots on goal battle 9-6.  Valentina Marin led the Eagles with three shots on target.

Yajaira Alvarado began the game with her AMC-leading 26th goal in the fifth minute to put Williams up 1-0 early.  UHSP responded quickly with goals in the 10th and 17th minutes to take the lead.

Valentina Marin scored to tie the game at 2-2 in the 24th, but the Eagles defense was unable to hold up as UHSP scored twice more in the first half to take a 4-2 lead.

The 4-2 score would hold through the final 45 minutes.  Williams put up 10 shots in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net to close the gap.

The loss drops WBU to 12-4-0 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play this season.  

Next, WBU will set its sights on the American Midwest Conference Tournament.  The Lady Eagles enter the bracket as the No. 2 seed, and earn a bye past the quarterfinal round.  Williams will host the winner of Harris-Stowe State and Hannibal-LaGrange in the semifinals at the WBU Soccer Field on Friday, Nov. 7.
