WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (10/28/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team scored a program-record 12 goals in a 12-0 win over Central Baptist at Joe Mack Campbell Park in Jonesboro, Ark. on Wednesday afternoon.
Williams dominated possession in the match, outshooting the Mustangs 38-4 on the day with 24 shots on goal.
Valentina Marin opened the scoring frenzy with a score in the fifth minute of the match. Kelsey Blackwell added the second goal with an assist from Yajaira Alvarado in the 21st, and Makaiya Minner netted the Eagles third goal in the 25th minute.
Yajaira Alvarado finished the game with three goals and two assists for her eighth multi-goal game of the season. Mackenzie Souers also posted a hat trick in the win with an assist of her own.
The Lady Eagles tied the single-game goals record when Danarria Thomas found the back of the net with an assist from Valentina Marin in the 75th minute, then broke the record with a score from Mackenzie Souers (Jada Hammett) in the 88th minute.
Nevaeh Larkins converted all three save opportunities she faced to secure the shutout. With her fourth shutout of the year, Larkins has tied the WBU single-season record for shutouts in a season.
The win moves WBU to 12-3-0 overall and 4-1-0 in American Midwest Conference play. The Lady Eagles will return to the pitch to close out the regular season at UHSP on Saturday, Nov. 1. Kick-off against the Eutectics is set for 11 a.m. from St. Louis, Mo.
