Lady Eagles Fall to TAMUT in Home Opener

 

The Williams Baptist University women's soccer team lost to Texas A&M-Texarkana 9-0 Tuesday in the home opener for the Eagles at the WBU Soccer Field.

TAMUT jumped out to an early lead with a goal in the second minute on a shot by Brooklyn Lattier, but the Eagles (0-2-0) were able to hold off the surge from attack for most of the remainder of the half. TAMUT added goals in the 42nd and 44th minute to push their advantage to 3-0 at the break.

In the second half Texas A&M-Texarkana scored six times to push the advantage out of reach for WBU. 

Kerrigan Kinsey made 14 saves in goal for Williams. 

The Lady Eagles return to the soccer pitch Saturday, Sept. 2 for a 1 p.m. matchup at LSU Alexandria.
