Ellis Sweeps AMC Player of the Week Honors

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/5/26) – Williams Baptist University women's basketball senior Cha'Myrean Ellis was named the American Midwest Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.

Ellis led the Lady Eagles to a 2-0 week last week with road victories over Fisk and Bryan.  On the offensive side of the ball, Ellis dropped 25 points in both games on 55.6 percent shooting from the field. 

The Carthage, Miss. native posted a double-double against Fisk with 11 rebounds, leading the Lady Eagles on the glass.  She also made three steals and blocked three shots across the two games.

Ellis is the first Eagle to sweep the Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards since Kaylee Isaacs did so on Jan. 6, 2025.  This is the second time this season Ellis has claimed AMC Player of the Week honors.

Ellis and the Lady Eagles return to the home floor for the first time in 52 days on Tuesday, Jan. 6 against Crowley's Ridge.  Tipoff against the Pioneers is set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
