WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/15/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's basketball team fell to Arkansas Baptist by the final score of 88-73 on Saturday afternoon inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.
Chelsea Hamilton and Cha'Myrean Ellis tied for the team lead in points with 19 each. Hamilton shot 8-of-19 on the day, while Ellis went 6-of-17 and 7-of-13 from the free throw line. Taylor Hooten led the team in assists with six, and Sara Crowe led on the glass with nine rebounds.
As a team, Williams went 29-for-66 (43.9 percent) from the field. ABC won the rebound battle 42-36.
Arkansas Baptist used an eight point swing at the end of the first quarter to take a 23-18 lead. Sara Crowe cut the lead to 23-20 with a layup before the end of the quarter.
The Buffaloes began the second quarter on a 9-3 run to extend the gap. Williams responded with an 8-1 run to cut the lead to 33-31, but ABC pushed the lead back out to 43-36 before the end of the half.
The Lady Eagles were unable to close the gap in the second half. WBU went on a 10-5 run to end the game, highlighted by a Hooten triple, but the Buffaloes advantage proved to be too large to overcome.
The loss drops WBU to 3-2 on the season. The Lady Eagles will return to the floor on Friday, Nov. 21 for an exhibition matchup against Union. Tip-off against the Bulldogs is set for 5:30 p.m. from Jackson, Tenn.
