WBU to Host AMC Women’s Basketball Tournament

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (2/25/25) – The Williams Baptist University women's basketball team will play host to the American Midwest Conference Women's Basketball Tournament presented by TandemHR on Feb. 28-Mar. 3 inside the Southerland-Mabee Center on the campus of Williams Baptist University.

The Lady Eagles are the No. 1 seed in the tournament after taking the AMC regular season championship.  The squad will face No. 8 Central Baptist (10-16, 8-14 AMC) in the first round on Friday, Feb. 28 at 5:15 p.m.

WBU finished the regular season with a 25-3 overall record and 21-1 mark in conference play.  Carmen Taylor leads the league in scoring average with 19.9 points per game.  Kaylee Isaacs ranks third in the league at 17.0 points per game.

Sara Crowe ranks first in the AMC in FG% this season at 55.8 percent in 28 contests.  Charmen Taylor follows in third at a 54.3 percent clip.  Taylor Hooten ranks thor in the AMC in assists per game with an average of 4.2 per night.

Should the Lady Eagles advance to the semifinals, WBU will face the winner of No. 4 Stephens and No. 5 Cottey at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 1.  The tournament final will be held on Monday, Mar. 3 at 5:30 p.m.

WBU will host the entirety of the AMC Tournament inside the Southerland-Mabee Center.  Tickets are available now at amcsportsonline.com/tickets.  All tickets must be purchased online in advance.
