WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (2/1/25) – Kaylee Isaacs scored 30 points to lead the Williams Baptist University women's basketball team to a 72-69 win over Stephens inside the Southerland-Mabee Center on Saturday afternoon.

Isaacs now sits at 1,889 career points, only three away from tying Angela Adams for the most points in a career at Williams.

Sara Crowe matched her season-high with 16 points on 8-for-14 shooting in the win.  Carmen Taylor put up 11 points, and Charmen Taylor posted 10 with a team-high eight rebounds.

The Lady Eagles went 30-for-65 (46.2 percent) from the field in the win. WBU turned 21 Stars turnovers into 18 points, and scored 30 in the paint.  Stephens won the rebound battle 35-32 and led with 17 second chance points.  Both teams' largest lead was nine.

Williams began the game on a 12-3 run capped off by a Sara Crowe layup halfway through the first quarter, but Stephens rallied back to cut the lead to four at the end of the period.

Stephens cut the Williams lead to one with a three at the end of the first half, then began the third quarter with a 6-0 swing to take a 37-31 lead.  The Stars held strong and took a 54-49 lead going into the final 10 minutes.

Charmen Taylor tied the game with a layup and Kaylee Isaacs hit for three to put Williams up 59-56 in the fourth quarter.  Another Taylor layup capped off a 12-2 Eagle run to go up 61-56.  Chu Crockett tied the game at 63 for Stephens with a free throw with two minutes to go.  Isaacs responded with a layup and drew the foul for the extra shot to put Williams up 66-63.

Crockett cut the Eagle lead to one with 56 seconds left, but Carmen Taylor hit the layup on the other end to put WBU up 70-67.  Crockett hit again for two to bring Stephens within one with nine seconds left, but Taylor hit two shots at the stripe on the other end to ice the game and give WBU the win.

WBU moves to 18-3 on the season and 14-1 in AMC play.  The Lady Eagles have now won 13 straight, the team's longest win streak since at least the 2005-06 season.

Next, the Lady Eagles will travel to Paragould, Ark. to take on Crowley's Ridge on Thursday, Feb. 6.  Tip-off against the Pioneers is set for 5:30 p.m. inside the Carter Activities Center.
