Isaacs Powers Eagles to Tenth Consecutive Win
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (1/23/25) – Kaylee Isaacs' big night led the Williams Baptist University women's basketball team to a 91-57 win over Harris-Stowe for its' tenth straight victory on Thursday night inside the Emerson Performance Center.
WBU improves to 15-3 overall on the year and 11-1 in American Midwest Conference play. The 10-game win streak matches the longest under head coach John Mayberry that the team set in the 2023-24 season.
Isaacs put up season-highs in both points and rebounds for a double-double on 31 points and 15 rebounds. The Batesville, Ark. native went 10-for-19 from the field and 10-for-11 from the charity stripe.
Reigning AMC Offensive Player of the Week Carmen Taylor finished with 21 points on 9-for-16 shooting in the contest. Charmen Taylor led the squad with five assists on the night.
As a team, Williams went 35-for-75 (46.7 percent) from the field. The Lady Eagles shone at the free throw line, knocking down 15-of-16 attempts. Williams controlled the game on defense, holding HSSU to 33.8 percent shooting and 13.3 percent from beyond the arc. WBU won the rebound battle 48-46 and scored 46 points in the paint. Williams never trailed in the contest.
After trading scores through the first five minutes of the contest, the Lady Eagles broke off a 21-4 run powered by 12 points from Isaacs to take a commanding lead in the second quarter.
The Lady Eagles kept a consistent scoring attack throughout the rest of the game that Harris-Stowe struggled to keep pace with.
Chelsea Hamilton gave WBU its largest lead of the night at 89-55 with just over a minute left to go in the contest. The Eagles comfortably closed out for the team's tenth straight win.
The Lady Eagles return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 25 against William Woods. Tip-off against the Owls is set for 1 p.m. in Fulton, Mo.
