Michael Named to NAIA Softball All-American Third Team
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (6/2/26) – Williams Baptist University softball sophomore Ashlyn Michael was named to the NAIA All-American Third Team, the national office announced Tuesday morning.
Michael appeared in 51 games for a Lady Eagles team that secured its fifth American Midwest Conference title in program history after a 41-15 regular season campaign.
The Van Buren, Ark., native finished with the second-most doubles in the NAIA at 27, setting a new WBU school record in the process, to land on the All-American Third Team at catcher.
Michael swung for a .386 AVG, .418 OBP, and .614 SLG%. She hit four home runs on the year and drove in 40 RBI's.
"We are incredibly proud of Ashlyn for earning All-American honors this season," said WBU Softball Head Coach Jessica Nutt. "She put in a lot of work throughout the year on offense and defense, and her success is a reflection of that commitment. After her freshman season, she set a goal to elevate her game even further, and she accomplished that through her consistency, determination, and dedication to our program."
Michael is the sixth different Eagle to earn NAIA softball All-American honors, and the first to earn the honor since her teammate Madyson Busselle was named to the NAIA All-American Third Team in 2024.
