WBU Softball Inks 15 in 2026 Signing Class
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (5/19/26) – Williams Baptist University softball head coach Jessica Nutt announced the 2026 signing class for Lady Eagles softball on Tuesday afternoon.
The class features 15 student-athletes that will join the program for the 2026-27 academic year.
"I am very excited about this group we have coming in," said WBU Softball head coach Jessica Nutt. "We graduated nine seniors, but get the opportunity to bring in 15 fresh faces to the team. They have some pretty big shoes to fill, but they're a great group of players and we are excited to welcome them to the family."
Below is a list of the players that signed their letter of intent to play for WBU:
Addison Schneider (Eureka, Mo.)
Schneider is a catcher/infielder from Eureka High School. She played travel ball for Epic Premiere STL and was second team all district, second team all conference and academic all state. She plans to major in Middle School Education while at WBU.
Bertlee Barrett (Hernando, Miss.)
Barrett is a corner infielder from Hernando High School. She earned all-county and all-district honors for the Tigers, and played travel ball for Mississippi Glory. She plans to major in Biology (pre-med) at Williams.
Brianna DeSpain (Greenville, Mo.)
DeSpain is a utility player transferring to WBU from Mineral Area College. She swung for a .302 average in 29 games played with the Cardinals. She will also run cross country for the Eagles in the fall. DeSpain plans to major in Biology (pre-nursing) at Williams.
Calleigh Newberry (Delaplaine, Ark.)
Newberry is a pitcher/utility player from Greene County Tech High School. As a Golden Eagle, she was named to the all-conference team three times and earned "Best Under the Sun" honors from the Jonesboro Sun. She played travel softball for Tulsa Elite NEA. She plans to major in Criminal Justice at Williams.
Camryn Ellison (Malden, Mo.)
Ellison is a shortshop/utility player from Malden High School. She was named academic all-state three times and all-district twice. She played travel softball for Velocity. Ellison plans to major in Political Science (pre-law) during her time at Williams.
Khloe Lloyd (DeWitt, Ark.)
Lloyd is a three-time all-conference third baseman out of DeWitt High School. She played travel ball for Arkansas Dingers. She plans to major in Psychology at WBU.
Kinley Mitchell (North Little Rock, Ark.)
Mitchell is a first baseman from Sylvan Hills High School. She played travel ball for Arkansas Prime. Mitchell plans to major in Liberal Arts at WBU.
Lauren Reilly (Cabot, Ark.)
Reilly is an outfielder from Cabot High School. She was named to the all-conference team twice, all-state, and was named the Democrat Gazette's 2026 Player to Watch. She played travel ball for Arkansas Blast. She plans to major in Psychology at Williams.
Maddy Wilken (Eureka, Mo.)
Wilken is a second baseman/outfielder for Eureka High School and STL Heat 07/08 Gold Zimmer. She was named academic all-state twice. She plans to major in Elementary Education at WBU.
Madison Boswell (Tomball, Texas)
Boswell is a pitcher/utility player for Klein Cain High School. She played her travel ball for Cy Fair Sting, and was named to the academic all-state team. She plans to major in Biology (pre-therapy) and Agribusiness at Williams.
Mileena Poe (Cabot, Ark.)
Poe is an all-conference utility outfielder for Cabot High School. She played travel softball for Arkansas Blast 08. She plans to major in Biology at WBU.
Mya Foster (Heber Springs, Ark.)
Foster is a corner infielder and catcher for Heber Springs High School. She is a three-time all-conference player for the Panthers, and played travel ball for Arkansas 18U Prime Gold. She plans to major in Biology during her time at Williams.
Tillie Garcia (Pea Ridge, Ark.)
Garcia is an outfielder for Pea Ridge High School. She played travel softball for the Mountain Home Diamonds. She plans to major in Liberal Arts with an emphasis in Biology at WBU.
Aubree McKinney (Brownsboro, Texas)
McKinney is a utility player from Brownsboro, Texas.
Lexi Key (Randolph County, Ala.)
Key is a pitcher/utility transfer from Lurleen B Wallace CC in Andalusia, Ala. She swung for a .255 average in 48 plate appearances as a hitter for the Saints.
