Caldwell Named co-Pitcher of the Year, Foster Named Freshman of the Year at AMC Awards Banquet
BRANSON, Mo. (4/27/26) – The Williams Baptist University softball team earned Coach of the Year, co-Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, and nine all-conference honors at the American Midwest Conference Softball Awards Banquet on Monday night.
Emberlin Caldwell was named AMC co-Pitcher of the Year alongside Columbia's Ella Schouten. Caldwell went 20-4 in the circle with a 2.01 earned run average across 153.1 innings pitched with 117 strikeouts. She is the first Lady Eagle to earn Pitcher of the Year honors since Karisa Hendrix in 2013.
Addison Foster followed up by being named the AMC Freshman of the Year. The Fort Smith, Ark., native put up a .372 average while leading the league with 13 home runs and 50 RBI's.
WBU Head Coach Jessica Nutt was named AMC Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Eagles to their first AMC regular season title since 2013. WBU finished the regular season with a record of 39-11 and a 17-1 mark in conference play.
Nine Lady Eagles were named to AMC All-Conference teams during the banquet, including five to the First Team. Addison Foster, Ashlyn Michael, Emberlin Caldwell, Madyson Busselle, and Morgan Garner were all named to the AMC All-Conference First Team.
Kaylee Wolfe and Taylor Youngblood earned AMC All-Conference Second Team honors, and Breann Thresher and Brooke Scott were named to the AMC All-Conference Third Team.
Thresher and Busselle were named to the AMC Gold Glove Team at second base and shortstop, respectively.
Rounding out the awards, Ella Murphree was named as WBU's representative to the AMC Champions of Character Team. The award recognizes members of each team who best represent the NAIA's Five Core Values of Integrity, Respect, Responsibility, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.
WBU will begin its run in the American Midwest Conference Tournament on Tuesday, April 28 against Stephens. First pitch against the Stars is set for noon from the Branson Rec Plex in Branson, Mo.
