Caldwell Named AMC Pitcher of the Week

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/23/26) – Williams Baptist University softball pitcher Emberlin Caldwell was named American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The Van Buren, Ark. native earned the weekly honor second time this season after twirling two complete game shutouts against Lane and Columbia this week.

On Thursday, Caldwell tossed 5.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts in a 12-0 win over Lane.  

Caldwell followed up on Saturday with 7.0 shut down innings in WBU's AMC opener against Columbia to lead the Lady Eagles to a 3-0 win.

The Lady Eagles hold an 18-8 overall record with a 2-0 mark in conference play.

Caldwell and WBU will return to the diamond on Friday, March 27 on the road against Central Baptist.  First pitch against the Mustangs is set for 1 p.m. in Conway, Ark.
