Lady Eagles Fall at Blue Mountain 

BLUE MOUNTAIN, Miss. (2/10/26) – The Williams Baptist University softball team fell in a doubleheader at Blue Mountain Christian on Tuesday afternoon.

GAME ONE - Blue Mountain Christian 4, Williams 0

Breann Thresher led the way for the Lady Eagles in game one with two hits in the contest.  

Blue Mountain struck first in the bottom of the first with a two-run homer, then added two more on an RBI single in the bottom of the third.

Williams threatened with the bases loaded and two outs in the fifth, but failed to convert the opportunity.  Breann Thresher got on with a one-out infield single in the seventh, but the Eagles could not bring her in.

Morgan Garner (1-2) was tagged with the loss with three earned runs in six innings.  Garner fanned five in the effort.

GAME TWO - Blue Mountain Christian 7, Williams 2

The Toppers out-hit the Lady Eagles 12-3 in the back half of the twin bill.  Madyson Busselle, Addison Foster, and Ashlyn Michael each tallied a hit.

After the Toppers got on the board first with a three-run bottom of the second, Addison Foster brought Williams back within one with a two-run knock down the right field line in the top of the third with two outs.  

BMCU added on another in the bottom of the fourth inning, then held the Lady Eagles without a baserunner for the final three innings.  The Toppers added on three more in the sixth to take the doubleheader sweep.

Emberlin Caldwell (2-1) got the loss in the circle for WBU, while Jana Shaw (2-0) picked up the win for Blue Mountain Christian.

The losses dropped WBU to 3-3 on the season.  Next, Williams will travel to Hawkins, Tex. to face Jarvis Christian in a doubleheader on Thursday, Feb. 12.  First pitch against the Bulldogs is set for 1 p.m.
