Eagles Picked 4th in AMC Cross Country Preseason Poll

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.  (8/21/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's cross country team was picked to finish fourth in the American Midwest Conference preseason coaches' poll, the league announced Thursday afternoon.

The Eagles received seven points in the poll to finish fourth.  Columbia received the most votes with 16, Hannibal-LaGrange was picked second with 13, and UHSP was picked third with nine.

The new-look Eagles welcome four newcomers to the squad alongside first-year head coach Jennifer Mathis, with only one returner from 2024 in senior Cody Carden.

Williams will begin the 2025 season on Saturday, August 30 in the Memphis Twilight Classic in Memphis, Tenn.  The men's race begins at 10 p.m., while the women take off at 9:20 p.m.
