Eagles Go Winless at Rocky Top Duals

GATLINBURG, Tenn. (12/13/25) – The Williams Baptist University wrestling team fell to three top-ten teams at the Rocky Top Duals on Saturday.

The Eagles faced No. 2 Life, No. 7 Campbellsville, and No. 10 Cumberland (TN) in the event.  All three of those teams are ranked inside of the top-ten in the NAIA.

Williams fell to No. 7 Campbellsville 43-9 in its final dual of the event.  Landon Holmes picked up three points with an 8-6 decision win in the 141, and Matthew Russell grabbed six points with a win by fall in the 184 weight class.

WBU was shutout by No. 2 Life 51-0 in its first match of the day, then fell to No. 10 Cumberland in its second dual 57-0.

The losses drop the Eagles' dual record to 0-4.  Next, Williams will return to the mat on Friday, Jan. 9 for the Missouri Valley Duals in Marshall, Mo.
