Russell, Kincade Lead WBU at Drury Open 

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (11/17/25) – The Williams Baptist University wrestling team had two top-eight finishers at the Drury Open in Springfield, Mo. on Saturday.

Matthew Russell led the squad with a fourth place finish in the 184 weight class.  After a bye and a loss, Russell took two wins by fall, including a comeback in the third period in the quarterfinal to slot into a fourth place finish.

In the 285 bracket, Case Kincade came away with a sixth place finish.  After a loss in his first match of the day, Kincade went on a three-match win streak with two wins by fall and a tech fall.  

In addition, Roman Corrall, James Opitz, Ezekiel Gasca, and Clay Crane all took wins in the event.

Next, WBU will travel to Powder Springs, Ga. for the Life Open on Saturday, Nov. 22.
