Eagles Go Winless at AMC/SAC Duals

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (1/18/25) – The Williams Baptist University men's wrestling team went winless in the 2025 American Midwest Conference/Sooner Athletic Conference Wrestling Duals hosted in the Southerland-Mabee Center on Saturday morning.

The Eagles kicked off the morning with a promising start against Jarvis Christian, but ultimately fell 23-21.  Ross Womack took the win over Caelob Davis by an 8-1 decision for three points. Gatlin Taylor, Ian Halfacre, and Grayson Pennison took forfeit wins in the dual for six points each.

WBU fell in its second dual 47-12 against Oklahoma City, with the squads only wins coming by forfeit for Jimmy Singleton and Noel Mejia.

Williams went winless the rest of the way as the team fell 57-0 to Wayland Baptist, 57-0 to Texas Wesleyan, and 60-0 to Missouri Baptist.

The Eagles now stand at 1-8 in duals on the season.

Next, the Eagles return to the mat for the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday, Feb. 1 in Marshall, Mo.
