Seven WBU Track and Field Athletes Named 2023 Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes
Williams Baptist University is proud to announce that seven exceptional student-athletes from its men's and women's track and field teams have been recognized as 2023 Daktronics NAIA Track & Field Scholar-Athletes. This prestigious honor is awarded to individuals who excel in both their athletic and academic pursuits.
The following individuals have been named as 2023 Daktronics NAIA Track & Field Scholar-Athletes: Gage Blankenship (Paragould, Ark.); Nicholas Powell (Lynn, Ark.); Calista Christian (Conway, Ark.); Danielle Barstead (Springfield, Mo.); Hannah Baker (Osceola, Ark.); Mikey Larson (Sulphur Springs, Ark.); Madison Mittag (Malden, Mo.).
The 2023 list of Daktronics NAIA Track & Field Scholar-Athletes includes a total of 1881 student-athletes who have achieved a remarkable cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 at their respective institutions. These individuals have not only demonstrated their exceptional skills on the track and field but have also excelled in the classroom.
To be nominated for this prestigious recognition, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have completed at least one full year at their institution. The dedication and commitment shown by these athletes in achieving both academic and athletic excellence is truly commendable.
