WBU Golf Sweeps CBC One Day Tournament
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (4/8/26) – The Williams Baptist University men's and women's golf teams both took first place in the CBC One Day Tournament hosted by Central Baptist College at the Country Club of Arkansas in Maumelle on Tuesday.
WBU faced Central Baptist and Hendrix in the one-round event.
On the men's side, Grant Wilson tied for first with a two-over par 74 with Hendrix's William Baker. Ian Ellison followed up in a tie for third with a 76 in his round, and Curren Bounds posted a 78 to finish in seventh.
Elijah Wilkes and Jack Pierce rounded out the lineup in a tie for 12th place, each with a score of 79.
Carrington Reid (79, T-12), Jackson Welch (83, T-21), Cameron Jackson (83, T-21), and Ian Winward (84, 26) also competed in the event as WBU's B Team.
As a unit, the Eagles won the event by six strokes over host CBC with a total team score of 307.
Marianna Bonilla led the Lady Eagles with a first place finish with a 79 on her scorecard. Kendra Harness followed up in third with an 83.
Katie Fish and Grace Woody both finished tied for fifth with a score of 90, and Gabi Harmon and GracieLee Edwards (IND) finished tied for 11th with a score of 101.
The Lady Eagles won the event by 35 strokes with a team score of 342, ahead of second place Hendrix with a 377.
Next, WBU golf will compete at the CRC One Day Tournament hosted by Crowley's Ridge at Paragould Country Club in Paragould, Ark. on Thursday, April 9.
