Eagles Finish Second at AMC Preview
MELBOURNE, Ark. (3/24/26) – The Williams Baptist University men's golf team turned in a strong second place finish at the AMC Preview on Monday at Cooper's Hawk Golf Club.
As a team, the Eagles put up a two-round total of 598 (300-298), finishing six strokes behind tournament winner Columbia. The Eagles were one stroke ahead of third place Mission.
Curren Bounds paced WBU in a tie for seventh with a two-round card of 150 (76-74).
Jack Pierce (74-77), Ian Ellison (75-76), Grant Wilson (75-76), and Kaleb McClain (79-72) all finished tied for 12th in the event at 151. McClain's final-round 72 marked the squad's best round of the tournament as he climbed six spots in the standings.
Elijah Wilkes and Cameron Jackson competed in the event as individuals. Wilkes finished tied for seventh with a two-round score of 150 (75-75), and Jackson finished 23rd with a two-round card of 155 (77-78).
Williams will return to the links for one more event before the AMC Championships at the Fremont Hills Classic in Nixa, Mo. on April 13-14.
