Dirnberger Named AMC Pitcher of the Week
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/2/26) – Williams Baptist University baseball sophomore Gabe Dirnberger was named American Midwest Conference Pitcher of the Week after throwing the first perfect game in program history, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
The Oran, Mo. native sat down 21 straight batters with four strikeouts in a 21-0 victory over Arkansas Baptist on Saturday at Shell Field. It was the 29th perfect game in NAIA history and first since 2022.
Dirnberger also tossed two scoreless innings with four strikeouts on Tuesday against Philander Smith to pick up another win.
He is the second Eagle pitcher to earn AMC Pitcher of the Week this season.
Dirnberger and the Eagles return to Shell Field to open up conference play this weekend against Hannibal-LaGrange. First pitch of game one against the Trojans is set for noon on Friday, March 6.
