Watkins Named AMC Player of the Week

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. (3/3/25) – Williams Baptist University baseball senior Jacob Watkins was named the American Midwest Conference Player of the Week after a historic performance in the fifth week of the season.

Watkins' week was headlined by setting the school record for RBI's in a game with eight in a 20-6 victory over Crowley's Ridge on Friday.  Watkins went 4-for-5 with two doubles and a home run in that game.

The Cooter, Mo. native went 16-for-33 over eight games with three doubles, two home runs, and 18 RBI's across an eight game week for the Eagles.

This is the second time Watkins has earned the honor in his career at WBU.

Watkins and the Eagles will return to the diamond on Friday, Mar. 7 for the first two of a four-game set on the road against Columbia.  First pitch against the Cougars is set for 1 p.m. from Columbia, Mo.
