Eagles Drop Series to Central Baptist

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Williams baseball team dropped the final two games of their series with the Central Baptist College Mustangs. The Eagles dropped game one 7-2 and game two 11-8. The Eagles are now 20-25 overall and 5-13 in conference play.

Game One

The Eagles didn't have much going on at the plate in the first game against the Mustangs. They collected five hits and their two runs came from a 2-run homerun off the bat of Jarron Brantley

Ray Ochoa got the start and pitched 4.2 innings. He gave up six runs off seven hits and walked four. Cash Forrester pitched 1.1 innings of relief and gave up one run, walked one and struck out three. 

Game Two

Williams was better at the plate in game two, as they collected 12 hits. The Mustangs took a 1-0 lead in the first, but the Eagles immediately responded in the second when Wyatt LeDure scored on a wild pitch. The Mustangs plated three runs in both the third and fourth innings to take a 7-1 lead. Williams plated seven runs in the sixth to take their first lead of the game. Coltin Weldon hit a RBI single to get the scoring started, then Palmer Campbell drew a walk with the bases loaded. Brantley was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, then Nick Jones cleared the bases with a 3 RBI double. LeDure followed up with RBI double. Unfortunately, the Mustangs plated four runs in the eighth inning to retake the lead. 

Brady Sterns got the start and pitched 3.0 innings, giving up seven runs off five hits and walked three. Parker Jeffries pitched 4.1 innings of relief and gave up one run off three hits, walked one struck out two. Blake Simmons pitched in relief and gave up three runs off one hit and walked two. Eric Tolar pitched 0.2 innings of relief.
