HANNIBAL, Mo. - The Williams baseball team set multiple single season team records in their series win over Hannibal-LaGrange University this past weekend. Williams set new team single season offensive records for stolen bases, runs scored, RBIs, and walks, while the pitching staff set a new record for strikeouts. The Eagles dropped their first game 1-0, won the second 14-5, and won the third 3-2. The Eagles are now 20-22 overall and 5-10 in conference play.
After the weekend, the Eagles now have 99 stolen bases on the season, have scored 327 runs, have 292 RBIs, and drawn 180 walks, all good for new team single season records. The Eagles pitching staff have 317 strikeouts which is also good for a new team single season record.
Dezmond Cordova and Sam Philley led the team this weekend with 4 RBIs each.
Spencer Burnham got the start in game one and one run and struck out eight.
Brady Sterns got the start in game two and gave up four runs and struck out six. Jolby Jones pitched 3.1 innings of relief, struck out four, and got the save.
Ray Ochoa got the start in game three and gave up two runs and struck out nine. Eric Tolar pitched 1.0 inning of relief and struck out one.
