Eagles Fall to Scots
WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. - The Williams baseball team fell in its doubleheader on Saturday to the Lyon College Scots. They dropped game one 6-3 and game two 11-5. The Eagles are now 17-20 on the season and 3-9 in conference play.
Game One
The Eagles took an early lead with a run in the second when Garrison Keene hit a RBI single. They added another run in the third when Nick Allred hit a RBI double. The Scots tied it up with two runs of their own in the fourth. The Eagles retook the lead in the bottom of the fourth when Isaac Williams hit a RBI single. Lyon scored four runs in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead.
Ray Ochoa got the start and pitched 4.0 innings. He gave up five runs off eight hits and struck out six. Blake Simmons pitched 3.0 innings of relief and gave up one run off two hits, walked one and struck out four.
Game Two
The Eagles scored two runs in the second to take a 2-1 lead when Coltin Weldon walked with the bases loaded and then Palmer Campell scored on a passed ball. That was all they would score until the eighth inning when they were facing a 9-2 deficit. In the eighth, Allred hit a RBI groundout. In the ninth inning, Simmons and Williams hit RBI doubles to plate two runs.
Brady Sterns got the start and pitched 6.2 innings. He gave up six runs off six hits, walked five and struck out four. Parker Jeffried pitched 0.0 inning of relief and gave up two runs off three hits. Alex O'Brien pitched 1.0 inning of relief and gave up two runs off two hits and struck out one. Eric Tolar pitched 1.1 innings of relief and gave up one run off one hit, walked one and struck out one.

The Eagles travel to New Albany, Miss., on Tuesday, April 12 for a matchup against Blue Mountain College. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
