ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Williams baseball team dropped the first game of its series with Missouri Baptist on Friday afternoon, 4-0. With the loss the Eagles are now 16-14 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
The Eagles outhit the Spartans 9-3, but committed four errors that allowed the Spartans to take a 4-0 win after scoring two in the fourth inning and two in the eighth inning.
Dezmond Cordova and Nick Allred both went 2-4 at the plate to lead the Eagles.
Spencer Burnham pitched 7.1 innings and gave up three runs off two hits, walked four and struck out six. Garrison Keene pitched 0.2 inning and gave up one run off one hit and walked one.
